Terms of Service
Effective September 15, 2026
CurbRules (“CurbRules,” “we,” “us”) provides a map of New York City street parking regulations at curbrules.com (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms.
1. What the Service is — and isn't
CurbRules interprets parking signs published by the NYC Department of Transportation and displays, for a chosen time and vehicle type, where parking appears to be allowed, metered, or prohibited. It is an informational aid, not a guarantee. Sign data may be incomplete, outdated, or misread; temporary regulations (construction, film shoots, street cleaning suspensions, snow emergencies, special events) are not reflected; hydrants, driveways, and other unsigned restrictions are not shown.
You are solely responsible for where you park. Always confirm the posted signs on site. CurbRules is not liable for parking tickets, towing, fines, or any other loss arising from reliance on the Service.
2. Accounts
You need an account to use the Service. Keep your sign-in method (email, phone, or Google account) secure — you are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 18 or have a guardian's consent.
3. Free visits and subscription
- New accounts get one free visit.
- After that, continued access requires a CurbRules Pro subscription at $5/month, billed in advance and renewing automatically each month until you cancel.
- Cancel anytime from “Manage subscription” in the app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
- Refunds are not provided for partial months, except where required by law or at our discretion — contact us at tsimbler@gmail.com.
- We may change the price with at least 30 days' notice by email before it affects you.
4. Acceptable use
Don't scrape, bulk-download, resell, or redistribute the Service or its data; don't attempt to circumvent the visit limit or paywall; don't use the Service in any way that violates the law. We may suspend accounts that do.
5. Data sources
Parking regulations are derived from NYC Open Data (NYC DOT Parking Regulation Locations and Signs; NYC Street Centerline). Base map data © OpenStreetMap contributors via OpenFreeMap. Place search uses NYC GeoSearch and Photon (OpenStreetMap). These sources are provided by third parties and may contain errors.
6. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and uninterrupted availability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
7. Changes and termination
We may update the Service or these terms; material changes will be posted here with a new effective date, and continued use means you accept them. You can delete your account at any time by emailing us. We may suspend or end the Service with reasonable notice.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York.
