Privacy Policy
Effective September 15, 2026
This policy explains what CurbRules collects, why, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run accounts and billing, your location never leaves your device, and we don't sell data.
What we collect
- Account information — your email address and/or phone number, or your Google account name and email if you sign in with Google. Handled by our authentication provider, Clerk.
- Usage counters — how many visits you've used and your subscription status, stored with your account so the free-visit limit and paywall work.
- Payment information — collected and stored by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your card number; we keep only a Stripe customer ID and subscription status.
- Analytics — anonymous page-view statistics via Vercel Web Analytics (no cookies, no cross-site tracking, IP addresses are not stored).
Location
When you allow location access, your position is used only in your browser to center the map. It is not transmitted to or stored on CurbRules servers.
Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies: authentication cookies set by Clerk to keep you signed in, and one signed cookie that marks a recent visit so reloading the page doesn't count as a new visit. No advertising or tracking cookies.
Third parties we rely on
- Clerk — authentication (clerk.com/privacy)
- Stripe — payments (stripe.com/privacy)
- Vercel — hosting and analytics (vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy)
- OpenFreeMap, NYC GeoSearch, and Photon — map tiles and address/place search. Your search text and map viewport are sent to these services to return results; no account information is shared with them.
We do not sell personal information and do not share it with advertisers.
Retention and deletion
Account data is kept while your account exists. To delete your account and associated data, email tsimbler@gmail.com from your account email; we'll complete deletion within 30 days. Stripe retains billing records as required by financial regulations.
Your rights
You can access, correct, or delete your data, and object to or restrict processing, by contacting us. If you are in a jurisdiction with specific privacy rights (for example the EU/UK GDPR or the California CCPA), those rights apply and we will honor them.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We'll post any changes here with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify account holders by email.
